This bolt, spacer and washer are part of the brearing remover & installer set part number 385546. The installer tool is for use on 1972-74 50; 1972-77 65, 70 HP; 1975-77 75 HP (long shaft) outboards and 1968-71 50, 55 and 60 HP outboards with replacement gearcases. In 1972 the 50 and 65 HP gearcases were redesigned requiring a new technique for removing and installing the pinion bearing. In addition, service replacement gearcases currently being built for older 50, 55 and 60 HP engines are also serviced using a method different from that explained in service manual.
