This sale is for one new in the box Mercury Marine short shaft lower unit gear case housing for Mercury outboard boat motors.
This is a new old stock original Mercury part, not aftermarket.
There may be some shelf wear/scratches in the paint from sitting so long in storage, but other than that it is unused and in perfect condition.
Driveshaft measures 18" from base of the water pump to the tip of the driveshaft and 18 1/2" to the top of the preload pin.

This lower unit gear case housing fits some short shaft Mercury outboards from 1975-1979 with 40 and 50 hp.
