This sale is for one brand new old stock short shaft Mercury Outboard lower unit.
This Mercury gear case is brand new in the box. This is an original factory Mercury part, not aftermarket.
The drive shaft measures approx 18" from the tip to the base of the water pump.
The driveshaft has 8 splines and the prop shaft has 15 splines.
This lower unit fits some Mercury outboards from 1978 and 1979 with 80 hp. It may fit more than this so please check your part numbers.
