The Mercury part number for the unit is 1547-9412A18. The 1.98 gear ratio set is part number 43-55778A 3.
There is no damage or corrosion on this upper unit other than cosmetic. We have totally disassembled it and inspected it. We also installed new seals. All of the gears are and bearings are original Mercury parts and all in perfect condition. This upper unit is pressure tested to 15 PSI.

This upper unit is for 4 cylinder Mercruiser Alpha Ones from 1980-1990. If you change the drive shaft, it also fits pre-Alpha Mercruisers in the 1970's.
