This sale is for a new short drive shaft housing for Mariner and Mercury outboard motors.
The Mercury part number is 1538-4937A2. The casting number is 1538-4937.
This Mercury Exhaust Housing is brand new. There is some shelf wear where the housing was rubbing against the box. There are 2 small spots where the paint wore off as shown in the pictures.
This short shaft drive housing will fit some Mercury 4.5 - 45, 4.5 (1 CYL.) and MERC 40 - 40 (1 CYL.) models from 1972-1979.
