For sale is for one used Upper Gear Case Unit for OMC 400 Stringer 4CYL stern drives 1978-80.
The upper gear housing assembly complete (without exhaust housing or top cover) part number 0982486, 982486
21/18 gears used from 1973-85
Final drive ratio was 1.65:1
Exhaust housing part number: 0981056 (1978-83)
Top cover: 0981099 (1978-85)
****It has standard steering so if you turn the steering gear on the front clockwise the back turns to the right****
Used from 1968-80, the Steering Worm Gear is part number 0313183.
You will get the exact gear case in the pictures.
This OMC upper unit is in good condition. It was inspected and all the gears look good. It's from freshwater Wisconsin and is not corroded out. There is some paint flaking off.
